AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Three people were injured after a structure fire Saturday night around 8:00 p.m.
The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a 2nd alarm fire in the 1500 block of Bell Street.
Upon arrival, crews found a big fire on the second story of the house. Three people and seven dogs were rescued from the home.
Two patients had non-critical injuries and the third is in critical condition, suffering burn injuries to the arms, neck, and face. This patient also suffered from smoke inhalation was and was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital.
No injuries to the pets were reported.
The fire was brought under control just after 8:30 p.m.
Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office responded and determined the cause to be “Electrical” and noted an abundance of extension cords in the immediate fire area.
